Four ways to save your life!

Today we are going to talk about the ways to save your life in different situations. We learnt it in our last English class and we want to share with you.
The four situations that we're going to talk are: drowning, being cruushed in a crowd, a house fire and lightning.
Drowning:

  • Don't try to swim ashore if you are more than 100 metres away from the coast.
  • If you have a boat, stay with it! Boats are easier to identify than people.
  • The water is warmest on the surface, so try to lie on your back.
Being crushed in a crowd:

  • If you go to a concert or a football match, make sure you know where the exits are.
  • If you have to get out quickly, move away from the ''pressure area''. That's the area of greatest density.
  • Move backwards or to one side.
House fire:

  • Don't open any doors unless you know for sure there is no fire on the other side.
  • Touch the handle with the back of your hand. If it's hot, you must not open the door.
  • Instead go to a window and shout for help.
  • Only try to extinguish the fire yourself if it is small.
  • Leave the room and alert everybody in the house. If you can, get out and call the fire brigade.

Lighning:

  • You are safest indoors.
  • If you are outside, don't take cover under a tree. An electrical current may run down.
  • Look for a small depression in the ground and crouch down with your feet together.
  • If you are in a  car, you are safe.

This energy is renewable energy, that means comes from natural sources and don't produce pollution to the Enviroment.

Advantages:
  • Doesn't produce pollution and it doesn't damage the Enviroment.
  • Renewable energy
  • Can also be agricultural farms at the same time, because farmers can use it to grow crops
  • Clean an efficient way to produce energy
Disadvanges:
  • Maybe people don't like the look of wind farms
  • Birds and bats near the turbines are in danger
  • Wind turbines aren't very noise
Wind turbine in your house:
  • It's expensive
  • Probably the area isn't very windy so it can't make a lot of power
  • You will have to biuld a big turbine
  • Maybe your neighbours don't like it
